She’s getting her bachelors degree in May btw
Her release is bitter sweet as:
1 she should never have been in custody to being with.
2: she will be released in August after serving 15 in prison
3 upon her release she will spend 10 yrs on parole and have mandatory community service.
She was wrongfully locked up at the age of 16 for being courageous enough to defend herself from a monster. Now she has to spend 25 under tight government surveillance. Thats most of her life. I wouldn’t call that justice or freedom. Actual rapist and murderers get let off with less. If more can be done for her i think we should. The system failed her. We shouldn’t.
